two-bite brownie challenge

Oh my goodness...

It's almost been a month since I last posted! (excuse giving starts here) So ummm yeah.... so you see.... the reason why I haven't blogged for a month is because.... ummm... yeah. I couldn't think of anything to blog about!!! yeah that's what I was doing! for the whole past month I was trying to think about what to blog about.

So I was sitting around in my apartment just staring at the wall thinking... what in the world should I blog about. Then I realized the wall wasn't giving me any inspiration so i decided I had to get out and do stuff. Maybe if I got out of the apartment I would find something extraordinary to blog about.

owl city!

So I bought a ticket to an Owl City concert and went to said concert.
If you don't believe me here is proof.
Mr. Adam Young of Owl City. Surprisingly enough he didn't play the synth the whole concert. He just played that guitar of his. For all the Owl City haters out there this guy actually is a musician (and you're just jealous tswift hasn't written a song about you yet.)

Me and two total strangers. Hence why I look so enthused. (jk I was super excited! so excited i didn't care who i was photographed with) (jk #2 that's me and my buddies Ethan and Sarah)
The concert was fantastic! I lost my voice for a good week afterwards (actually it still isn't fully back yet.) I'm slowly losing my hearing from going to concerts but it's okay. you only live once right??? bahahahaha. anywho after all that time spent concerting I still couldn't find anything to blog about. You'd think after chillin in SLC for a few hours and listening to Owl City live would help me think of something to blog about. Oh well life goes on and so did my quest to find something to blog about.

marimba prison  heaven

So I spend about 4 hours a week locked in a room on the second floor of the HFAC (Harris Fine Arts Building) why I torture myself I'm not sure. That's probably why I can't figure out anything to blog about. (Actually I am sure. I am taking private marimba lessons this semester and I gotta get my money's worth. Practice makes perfect.)
So how it works:

1. you pick up those sicks with the blue things on top  mallets
2. you hit the keys with the blue top part  them
3. you make beautiful amateur music

Art warrior

As you all know I've been working on my artistic abilities in that super cool Art for Elementary Ed Teachers Class. So I decided to get the creative juices flowing and start some new projects. Yet I still didn't find anything significant to blog about.
This is a rough sketch of my dad holding a random baby. me as a baby.

This is a tiger lion. obviously. Chalk on black construction paper.

and Here is my rendition of an old classic. I call it Mona Lisa.

"real college life"

After all that I decided I needed to experience real college life. Real college life would be something I could maybe blog about. so I put on my blue and white and went to a football game.
Super Cute right??? :) yeah i know we look totes adorbs adorable but actually we are freezing. It was like 50 degrees out. :P and idk how my sister managed to get in this one... oh yeah the family came down to see me for a weekend.

So still nothing. By this time I was exceedingly annoyed. After all the stuff I was doing I still didn't have anything to blog about so I decided to face my fears.

Give me a mountain

So I'm super duper  really afraid of heights, spiders, alarm clocks, butterflies, and having an asthma attack. So i decided the best activity for my Tuesday night would be to climb up the Y mountain.
If you don't believe me here is proof.
The view from up there.

At the Y. That isn't snow it's a giant fake rock painted white shaped like a Y.

So yup I give up.

There's nothing in my life to blog about.

Wait a second..... these were sitting next to me while I was typing.
Two-Bite chocolate walnut brownies???

they call them two-bite chocolate walnut brownies?
what is that a challenge or something????
are they challenging me to eat one in one-bite?
I can totally do that!   Actually I can't. It takes two bites... I have been proven wrong.

Well I hope you guys all had a good month! Keep the faith! I'll try to be more consistent with the blog entries. :) Love yall!

p.s. this cross out effect is really cool!

disclaimer: I didn't actually paint that mona lisa haha

Unhappy Meal

So hey hey hey!

Blog post two! I must be really dedicated! Or I just really love rambling on the internet. yeah that's probably it....

Anyways...

The theme of the week here in our apartment has been food. People always talk about starving college students or those girls who you see at Christmas break and they've put on serious pounds. Well let me tell you this, no one in my apartment is starving and none of us are hippos. So we must be somewhere in between... yet we are always eating.

Last night I ate (if you really even care) ...

I ate a happy meal...
and let me tell you it did not make me happy! I was actually quite unhappy. I was ENRAGED!!!!
Okay I take that back I wasn't enraged... I don't ever enrage about anything. But that happy meal made me dissatisfied. They should put a warning on those thing. "Warning: this isn't guaranteed to make you happy."
Check out the size of the french fry holding device...
As compared to the size of a Quarter.

As compared to my phone.
As compared to my obviously not happy face.
\
As compared to a normal sized chair for normal people.
As compared to a front door.
As compared to an apartment building.
That last photo is almost like playing I Spy. I spy a seriously pathetic dawrfsized french fry holder from McDonalds. I spy corporate America ripping me off. haha :) There's no way kids could get obese anymore! You get approximately 15 fries and 6 apple slices. As you can tell I'm not so happy about it.

Something I am happy about!

I drew this pear!!!

I also drew this shoe!

I'm in this pretty sick art class for elementary ed majors. Basically you walk in the first day and the teacher asks,"Are any of you artists?" and we all sit and stare blankly back. and then she says,"I'll make an artist out of you." That's about the time you feel like you are in that Disney movie Mulan. Except she's not making men out of us (thank goodness. that'd be weird considering it's an all female class) she's making artists out of us. Turns out you don't have to cut your ear off or be super emotionally distressed to be an artist. So yes I am currently in the Artist Training Center here at BYU and I proudly present my two newest pieces.

Photoshoot :)

On Monday evening my roomies and I decided we would have a photoshoot! and guess what happened Monday evening...

It rained...
So we invaded the Provo Library :) and people kept asking us if we were the performers for the fancy event they were hosting there. I wanted to say, "Of course we are!" We could have made some money by providing amature entertainment but I decided to choose the right and be honest. Dang honesty... haha jk i really like honesty! honesty is good, don't listen to me hahaha.

Despite the rain we still looked super cute and successfully finished our photoshoot. :) Aren't we pretty?
Well that was my week! :) I'm having a fantastic time here at college! Can't wait to rant to you guys again! God is good!

P.S. Why was I eating a happy meal? We had coupons for free happy meals. So don't worry Dad I did not pay 5 dollars for that dwarfsized disappointment!

Playing Blogger :)

So here we go...

This is myself welcoming myself to the mainstream world of the bloggers and welcoming you all to the adventures of my life! I'm assuming if you are reading this you want to know whats up with  me so welcome! Take off your shoes and make yourself feel at home. Actually maybe i should tell you to buckle your seat belts because this is gonna be a bumpy ride. :)

So i just started my sophomore year here at Brigham Young University. Yes I am a sophomore without an MRS degree. Look at me beating the odds and crushing all those stereotypes of the females at this institution. That's definitely something to be proud of. Total hipster status. haha jk. Let me give you a little view of the bubble i'm living in right now...

A Glimpse into College Life

Everyone sticks together just like this. Not even kidding. Especially when trying to cross the street here. I recommend having about this many people with you when crossing the street unless you want to be road kill. #Utahdrivers

I recommend you paint your face just like this guy for football games or get a big blue wig. For some reason people like this guy really fascinate the ESPN camera guys. #waytorepresent

This position demonstrated by my roommate and I is the most effective way to study. No books needed. #straightAstudents

Half the boys think they are still somewhere in South America. Cuss words don't slip out of their mouths instead its every day Portuguese or Spanish. It is utterly impossible to interpret what they are saying all the time. #RMproblems
And the other half of the male species here has transitioned to the stage where they arm wrestle for girls. Some say it's just so they can show their strength, I'm thinking its a territorial thing. #Stilldressinglikemissionaries
Then on Sunday we put on our sunday best and make the trek to church. Upstairs in the snow both ways. This picture was the most accurate representation I could find. Looks just like us Mormons :) #andtheythoughttheyhadithard
Then 12:00am monday morning rolls around and every student gets in their car and heads for the Wendy's drive thru. We learned the hard way that they only take two orders per car. Seriously you'd think they'd want to sell more frostys in the middle of the night. You can make such a profit off of crazy college kids. #bringcashnexttime
When it comes to roommates you basically look like this all the time. The Taylor Swift SNL skit sums up how roommates love each other. #insidejokes

So there you go...

that's college.

Hopefully you've gotten your fill of me for a while. I'll keep y'all posted on all the goings on here with me. Life is great and God is good. Have a wonderful week and go get some neon pants.

<3 Jessica Kristine :)

Warning: some of this was highly exaggerated for laughs. :)
